What is an Employee Assistance Program?
Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) are employee benefit programs offered by many employers, typically in conjunction with a health insurance plan. EAPs are intended to help employees deal with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, health, and well-being. EAPs generally include assessment, short-term counseling and referral services for employees and their household members.
Every year, 1 in 5 employees experiences an emotional setback that disrupts their personal life and decreases their productivity at work.
Mountain Employee Assistance Program (EAP) increases a company's productivity and saves money by providing professional counseling services and advice to employees and supervisors.

Recognizing and Dealing with Stress
Many of us are not very good at recognizing the emotional reactions we have and so find that first we notice the physical responses.
Stress can produce such symptoms as headache, insomnia, upset stomach, or digestive changes. You may feel physical symptoms or emotional fatigue as the first clues of increased stress. An old nervous habit such as nail-biting may reappear. Because you may not recognize that you are under increased stress, you may interpret the symptoms as those of an illness rather than the manifestation of an adjustment or adaption process.

Online Video Therapy
In addition to traditional therapy, Mountain EAP conducts Online Video Therapy. This means you can enjoy therapy with one of our qualified counselors from the comfort of your own home. Please watch our short how-to video to the right and see how easy it is to do therapy online.
We often do online therapy with a free voice and video conferencing service called Skype. You can download Skype here. We also use other online video conferencing services, such as VSEE and FaceTime. We will try to accommodate whichever video conferencing service you prefer. Although all video conferencing services are highly encrypted, we require your permission to communicate with you over these services.
To use online video therapy, you must be part of a Mountain EAP supported company. Book an appointment by calling: 775.322.6066.
